Give both of you a good reference

A photo of you holding your pet can hide either face. Separate clear images often provide more useful detail: one for your appearance and one for the animal’s eyes, ears and markings. Extra body references can help communicate the size difference between you.

Choose a pose that makes sense

A small dog held close, a large dog beside a chair and a cat resting nearby call for different arrangements. Pick a template with room for the animal and review the contact points between hands, paws and clothing. An attractive background cannot compensate for an implausible pose.

• Keep the pet on its own participant card.
• Describe important coat details only when the reference needs clarification.
• Choose clothes you would be comfortable wearing around your companion.
• Inspect paws, hands and relative scale before downloading.

A keepsake of ordinary companionship

The portrait may celebrate a current companion or remember an earlier chapter. There is no need to disclose a loss or fill in a name to prepare your picture. Use the optional detail controls only if they help you express what matters.

A generated scene is an imagined keepsake, not proof that the moment occurred. Keep your original photographs too: the imperfect everyday picture and the new portrait can both have a place in your album.
